Janssen was confirmed as one of the UK pharma industry’s most innovative pharma companies in the field of digital communications at this year’s PM Society Digital Media Awards.

Now in its second year, the awards aim to reward excellence and innovation in the fast-evolving world of digital.

The event was held at the Brewery venue in central London and hosted by Nick Hewer, best known for being Alan Sugar’s right hand man in BBC1’s The Apprentice.

This year, healthcare professionals judged four categories, helping to ensure the awards serve the needs of customers.

Janssen won prizes in four separate categories including the coveted ‘Best Integrated Campaign’ for its cancer treatment Velcade. Another particularly notable project was Living with ADHD  (www.livingwithadhd.co.uk) a multimedia website for patients.

Among the other winners were AstraZeneca (digital solution for congress/symposium) and Astellas (film and animation category) and Hospira for its online resource for haematologists, www.haemanet.com.

Meanwhile Manchester-based agency Creative Lynx was the most feted of agencies, scooping five out of the ten award categories. Among the other agency winners were Story Worldwide, Adventis Health, Halesway, Big Pink and Replay Healthcare Digital Media.

In keeping with the digital interactive theme, 44 tables of attendees were given electronic pad devices and asked to vote on a variety of set questions.

Dave Hunt, digital director at Creative Lynx commented on his agency’s success, which mirrored a similar tally from last year.

“After a great year here in 2009, we are so proud to have continued our success in 2010. Our success is testament to our commitment to explore and leverage emerging technologies that deliver real world benefits,” he said.

“We enjoy what we do, and I think it shows in our work. We’re extremely proud of everyone at Creative Lynx for their contributions to this success.”
