Takeda names new President of Europe and Canada Business Unit
Takeda has named Giles Platford as its new President of Europe and Canada (EUCAN) Business Unit as of 1 April, where he will head up operations in the region and report directly to Takeda President and CEO Christophe Weber.
Joining the company in 2009, Platford boasts over 15 years’ experience in the industry and has served in a range of roles for his current company, namely President of Emerging Markets, overseeing Russia-CIS, Latin America, Middle East-Africa, China and Asia Pacific (excluding Japan) where he led the design and implementation of the company’s Global Access to Medicines Programme.
Earlier, he served Takeda as General Manager in Brazil. He currently also holds the responsibility of Corporate Officer and member of the company’s Executive Team.
