
EFPIA hires director of European affairs

The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) has appointed Elizabeth Kuiper to be the director of its European affairs.
Kuiper begins at the industry body in May and will report to Richard Bergström, the director general of the EFPIA, and is to work closely with the other directors active on the Brussels scene.
Kuiper currently works as attaché at the Permanent Representation of the Netherlands to the EU, where she represents the Netherlands in EU negotiations in the field of health, pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
Prior to this, Elizabeth worked as political adviser to the minister of Health, Welfare and Sports in the Dutch cabinet Balkenende-IV, delivering advice and support on healthcare policy related subjects.
