Aesica hires business development manager and director

Contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) Aesica has appointed Baali Muganga to the role of east coast US business development manager.

Muganga takes over five years of new business experience gained across the life sciences industry to the firm. Her key roles have comprised business development, commercial operations and clinical and bioinformatics research.

Recently, she served in the role of Associate Alliance manager with Reata Pharmaceuticals, a Dallas-based biopharma company. Prior to this, Muganga worked at AstraZeneca and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Muganga will be responsible for targeting small- to medium-sized life science and pharma companies requiring product development and manufacturing support.

Aesica has also appointed Julius Lodato to be a director of Finance and Administration. His previous roles include a tenure at DSM Pharma. Emma Mickley, VP, Corporate Business Development at Aesica said: “We are very pleased that Julius has joined our team. His understanding of the contract pharmaceutical and manufacturing market will be pivotal in the continued growth of the Aesica’s operations in the US and North America”.

On Muganga’s appointment Mickley added: “We are delighted to have Baali Muganga join the Aesica sales force. We look forward to leveraging her expertise gained through working for companies like Reata Pharmaceuticals and AstraZeneca, to help expand our presence across North America.”
