The NHS is to be given more support to work in partnership with local authorities with the establishment of the Integrated Care Network.

The Network will aim to develop local partnerships to provide a more inclusive health and social service.

Health Minister Jacqui Smith said: "The partnerships will focus on many groups including children, older people and the disabled, who will have experienced problems in receiving joined up services in the past.
