Digital science portfolio firm BioData that produces web-based research and lab management service Labguru, has appointed Louis Culot as its new chief executive.
Culot most recently served as the vice president of marketing and business development at BioDiscovery, a developer of genomics software for life science research and clinical applications.
Previously, Culot worked for 17 years with CambridgeSoft in roles including VP Enterprise Applications and executive director of Research Informatics.
“I’m thrilled to be joining BioData during this time of growth,” says Culot. “Labguru represents a major step forward in scientific data management, combining e-notebook, project management, specimen tracking and biologics inventory in a very polished application.”
Timo Hannay, managing director of Digital Science and chairman of BioData’s board adds: “Louis joins BioData at an exciting time in its growth. Louis’ extensive life science and software industry experience will ensure we continue to increase support to our institutional clients.”
