New chief medical officer for TeamHealth

Outsourced doctor staffing US firm TeamHealth Holdings has appointed Dr Miles Snowden as the company’s chief medical officer (CMO).

Snowden is replacing Gar LaSalle who retired from this position earlier this year. 

With 30 years of clinical leadership experience, Snowden is a strategic advisor for doctors, hospitals, and payers seeking successful development and participation in new business models.

In his most recent position as CMO for Optum, the health services division of UnitedHealth Group, he provided clinical oversight of the company’s development and distribution of healthcare technology, services, and consulting.

Prior to this role, Snowden led national clinical product development, delivery, and consulting for the commercial business with United Healthcare while concurrently leading the company’s southeast region client management organisation.
