
ABPI appoints Catherine Meaden as head of policy and public affairs

The ABPI has appointed Catherine Meaden as its new head of policy and public affairs.
She will join the UK pharma lobby group in April and will report to Amanda Callaghan, director of corporate affairs.
Catherine joins the ABPI from NHS Direct, where she spent three years as associate director of marketing and communications.
She previously held communications roles at the NHS Confederation and Cancer Research UK.
Catherine will lead the ABPI’s communications to parliamentarians and other senior stakeholders around the industry’s contribution to the UK economy and healthcare.
Her main duties will be the ABPI’s negotiation with the government on Value-Based Pricing, a new drug pricing scheme set to come into place by 2014.
