ESTEVE CDMO is investing a further $17.5m to expand capacity and containment capabilities at its Morton Grove facility in Illinois, taking total announced investment at the site to $33m.
The latest investment, following a $15.5m programme announced earlier this year, will fund two new 500-gallon reactors, enhanced containment capabilities in early-stage development laboratories and a warehouse refurbishment.
The upgrades are intended to increase capacity for early-stage development and allow the site to support manufacturing programmes as they progress towards larger clinical and commercial requirements.
The Morton Grove facility combines process research and development, analytical and stability testing, current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing and chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC) support.
Andrea Oro, Managing Director US and Global Head of Commercial Operations and Strategy at ESTEVE CDMO, said the investment would support the site’s development as a centre for early-stage development and manufacturing in the US.
