WPP launches Healix Digital Health

A new digital healthcare agency, Healix Digital Health, has been launched by two companies within the WPP group.
Grey Healthcare Group, a leading global healthcare comms agency, and VML, a top ranked global digital marketing agency have formed the joint venture to serve the needs of pharma and healthcare clients.
The new agency combines GHG’s expertise in healthcare communications with VML’s experience in digital marketing.
Healix will be headquartered in New York with an innovation centre in Kansas City, Missouri and access to the global WPP network. The business will be led by representatives from both companies, with oversight provided by GHG chief executive Lynn O’Connor Vos, VML chief executive Matt Anthony, GHG chief engagement officier Erin Byrne and VML managing director Jim Radosevic.
The company says Healix will provide best-in-class capabilities in developing digital healthcare strategies and programmes. It says it will offer “fully integrated, multi-channel” work that will be designed to improve health outcomes for consumers, engage the professional and deliver results for clients.
“As the healthcare industry continues to consolidate and rationalise, clients will increasingly need a partner who understands not only how to communicate with both professional and consumer audiences – but also how to do so in all media, not least digital,” said Sir Martin Sorrell, WPP chief executive.

This venture lays the groundwork for the future of digital healthcare communications.”
Named by Advertising Age as one of the top digital marketing agencies in the US, VML specialises in website strategy and development, and emerging media leadership.
VML has a number of major US clients in the consumer world, including Einstein Bros. Bagels, Hershey’s and Fannie Mae, plus international clients such as Accenture, Colgate-Palmolive, Dell, the English Premier League, Ford, and Microsoft.
