Contract research organisation PRA International has opened a new office in Munich, its third base in Germany.
Several major pharmaceutical companies operate from the city, including GlaxoSmithKline and Astellas, and it is also a leading European biotech centre.
Susan Stansfield, PRA’s executive vice president of product registration for Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific, said: “We are extremely pleased to broaden our coverage with an additional office in Munich
“The location in Munich complements our existing offices in Mannheim and Berlin and enables us to more easily cover a wider range of Germany and the surrounding countries.”
Located at Atrium, Riesstrasse 25, the new offices will initially house over a dozen employees, with future expansions planned for more than 20 employees in the next 12 months, working up to a total of more than 50 within five years.
The US CRO has long-established ties with Germany, choosing the country for its first European office in Mannheim more than 27 years ago.
The company now has 15 offices in Europe, where its capabilities include phase II-IV studies, two 70-bed phase I units, a ‘virtual phase I’ model in central Europe and a bioanalytical laboratory.
