InfectoPharm launches Polish operations with first hospital antibiotic

German pharmaceutical company InfectoPharm has officially launched its Polish subsidiary, marking its entry into the country’s pharmaceutical market with the rollout of its first hospital anti-infective medicine.
Based in Warsaw, InfectoPharm Polska will be led by Managing Director Beata Treszczynska, who will oversee the company’s commercial operations and future product launches in Poland.
The company’s first product in the market is InfectoFos, a fosfomycin-based treatment indicated for severe bacterial infections in hospital settings. Fosfomycin is included on the World Health Organization (WHO) Model List of Essential Medicines, reflecting its importance in treating serious bacterial infections.
Further launches from the company’s portfolio, including dermatology product InfectoScab, are planned later this year.
Treszczynska said the company’s immediate priorities are to ensure reliable product supply while supporting healthcare professionals with medical information and scientific expertise.
“Our ambition is to become a reliable partner for healthcare professionals in addressing one of the most serious challenges in modern medicine: bacterial resistance,” she said.
To support the expansion, InfectoPharm has established a local commercial team in Poland, with employees completing training delivered by colleagues at the company’s headquarters in Heppenheim, Germany.
Alongside commercial activities, the company is integrating its digital systems with the German operation while developing local communications, including a dedicated Polish website, newsletter and social media presence.
Treszczynska said combining local market knowledge with InfectoPharm’s scientific expertise and established product portfolio would provide a strong foundation for long-term growth.
She added: “Healthcare professionals in Poland value a focused product portfolio, scientific credibility, strong medical expertise and a reliable supply chain. These are precisely the strengths that InfectoPharm brings to the Polish market.”
The expansion forms part of InfectoPharm’s wider international growth strategy, with the company seeking to strengthen its presence in the European anti-infectives market while supporting clinicians managing increasingly complex bacterial infections.
