Grey Healthcare Group has expanded its European operations and boosted its animal health expertise with the acquisition of Geoff Howe Marketing Communications.

The move will see Grey gain an Eastern European hub in Prague, double the size of its current London office and establish a new US base in Kansas City, Missouri.

The medical communications group, itself part of the WPP network, will also add a stable of animal health clients to its roster and says the deal makes it the leading animal health agency in the world.

Michel Dubery, managing director of Grey Europe, said: “Acquiring Geoff Howe is a perfect fit for Grey. Both companies understand the role of the professional in the consumer decision making process, and Geoff Howe’s strength in animal health dovetails strategically with our core strength in human healthcare.”

“The move also generates new opportunities to offer expanded services and resources to existing clients.”

The newly-enlarged company will continue to be led by current Grey chief executive Lyn O’Connor Vos.

She said: “This acquisition broadens our reach in key markets throughout Europe while bringing the full multi-channel approach to the animal health marketplace, which is an exciting place to be.

“Clients want the best talent and ideas to grow their brands across the entire health and wellness continuum. We are now in a position to offer clients a wider variety of expanded services and resources.”
