Healthcare communications agency GCI Health has officially opened its London office.
The expansion, in response to the agency’s growing global and European client base is being led by Rikki Jones who transfers from her role as director at fellow WPP agency Cohn & Wolfe, and associate director Louise Veale, who also moves from within the WPP network.
“As the global specialty healthcare PR agency within the WPP powerhouse, our official entry into Europe puts us in the unique position of having truly global and local expertise on both sides of the Atlantic with a ready-made global network,” said Wendy Lund, the firm’s chief executive.
“We had been successfully servicing global business but as the international healthcare market continues to evolve the time was right to find European based leaders with the passion and experience to take our business expansion to the next level,” she added.
GCI Health currently has six client companies focussing in the areas of oncology, virology, auto-immune disease, diabetes and respiratory disorders.
“GCI Health London has thrived very quickly, testimony to the opportunity that exists for a fresh approach and our team’s commitment to deliver against it,” said Jones.
“We’re approaching our mission of redefining healthcare communications with a focus on our people, as the backdrop to creative and impeccably delivered programming.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the market’s response to date and are looking forward to continued London based success, in partnership with the rest of GCI Health’s global management team.”
The London business will focus on further building its client base across four primary service areas: life sciences, consumer health, market access communications and strategic consulting.
