Clinisys acquires Orchard Software to expand laboratory informatics leadership

Clinisys has announced the acquisition of Orchard Software from Francisco Partners, strengthening its position in laboratory informatics. The strategic acquisition combines two laboratory information system (LIS) providers, enhancing Clinisys’ ability to deliver scalable, cloud-based diagnostic and laboratory solutions across healthcare, life sciences and public health sectors.
Orchard Software is known for its LIS offerings tailored to physician groups, veterinary clinics, public health institutions and reference laboratories. The integration complements Clinisys’ specialism in laboratory information management systems (LIMS), extending its capabilities across the full diagnostics spectrum.

Francisco Partners acquired Orchard in 2019. “We’re proud of Orchard’s transformation over the past few years and confident that Clinisys is the right partner to lead its next stage of growth,” said Anders Mikkelsen, principal at Francisco Partners.
The collaboration between Clinisys and Orchard positions the group to serve more than 6,000 laboratories worldwide.
