Ardena has announced that its new GLP bioanalytical laboratory in Somerset, New Jersey in the US is operational and supporting client studies.
The 2,500 sq ft facility expands the specialist CDMO and bioanalytical CRO’s scientific capabilities in North America, providing bioanalytical services closer to client development programmes.
The laboratory includes controlled sample storage, LC-MS/MS systems and immunochemistry platforms. These technologies support quantitative analysis for both preclinical and clinical studies, enabling the analysis of small and large molecules across a range of therapeutic modalities.
The facility is also positioned to support global clinical trials.
Gunnar Flik, Division Head of Bioanalytical Services at Ardena, said the US expansion allows the company to work more closely with clients during key stages of drug development.
In addition to enabling greater collaboration with biopharma companies across the North American continent, Ardena highlights that the development has also strengthened its global bioanalytical network.
Flik added: “The new bioanalytical laboratory complements our established teams in Europe and strengthens our capacity to support complex therapeutic modalities, including antibody-drug conjugates and other drug conjugates, as well as biomarker analysis, in both regions.”
The new Somerset location, which was acquired by the company last year, houses an FDA-approved facility for advanced drug product manufacturing, serving both clinical development and commercial supply.
Further expansion of the site is planned this year to accommodate additional laboratory space, new analytical platforms such as qPCR and flow cytometry, and an increase in scientific staff to meet demand for bioanalysis and biomarker services.
Ardena’s integrated CDMO and CRO services encompass drug product development, manufacturing, solid-state chemistry, bioanalytical services and CMC regulatory support.
In addition to Ardena Somerset, the company currently operates five European facilities, including three in the Netherlands and one each in both Belgium and Spain.
