Abberior has announced that it has placed a super-resolution STED microscope at MBC BioLabs, which is the leading San Francisco Bay Area biotech incubator network. This installation marks part of Abberior’s attempt to support biotech entrepreneurs in the launch and growth of innovate life science companies.

Abberior focuses on cutting-edge imaging technologies, such as super-resolution STED microscopy systems, MINFlUX nanoscopy systems and fluorescence probes.

The STEDYCON STED microscope is a super-resolution florescence microscope, allowing researchers to visualise both biological structures and processes at the nanoscale level with high levels of accuracy and detail. It is hoped that the microscope will become an essential resource for entrepreneurs at MBC BioLabs, and should enable them to develop new products or treatments with higher efficacy.

Dr Christian Wurm, chief executive officer of Abberior Instruments America, commented: “We are thrilled to bring this cutting-edge technology to MBC BioLabs and help support the next generation of biotech entrepreneurs. Our STEDYCON microscope combines cutting-edge resolution and imaging performance with ease-of-use, enabling researchers to make breakthrough discoveries and bring new innovations to the market.”

Dr Doug Crawford, founder of MBC BioLabs, added: “We are committed to providing our members with the resources and support they need to succeed, and the installation of Abberior’s STED microscope is a major step forward in that effort. This tool will play a critical role in helping our startups to develop innovative products and therapies that will have a transformative impact on human health and wellbeing.”
