The Medical Research Network (MRN) is a unique clinical trial support organization offering nursing focused patient recruitment & retention solutions globally for clinical trials. Headquartered in the UK & now with a North American operation, the MRN offers Site Nurse Support and Home Trial Support services across the globe.
Established in 2006, the MRN is the worlds leading provider of home healthcare for patients in clinical trials; taking the trial to the patient makes participation more convenient and appealing for the patients and boosts recruitment rates considerably (from 60% upwards). This ease of participation also significantly improves patient retention, consistently above 90%.
During the last 4 years, MRN has been involved in the conduct of over 110 projects across a wide range of therapeutic areas, ranging from complex trials in oncology, rheumatology, enzyme replacement therapy, hematology and others requiring drug administration in the home, through to simple blood draws in neurology, anti infectives, respiratory, renal etc.
Our core services are Home Trial Support, Site Support & Bespoke Solutions.
Home Trial Support
Our unique Home Trial Support service offers nurse visits to the patients in their own homes, eliminating the need to travel to the trial site as often; typically 50% of visits can be done in the home. This service can increase patient recruitment by up to 60% and maintain retention at over 90%, as it makes study participation easier and more attractive to the patient. Performing a number of visits in the home also lessens the resource burden on the sites, allowing them to enter more patients or run more trials! We have experience of running this service across many therapeutic areas, including oncology, rheumatology, neurology (MS) and metabolic diseases.
Speeding up trials in this way reduces costs
Such reductions make the set up and implementation of the service cost neutral, whilst ensuring the trial completes on time, or even early!
Our Site Support service places experienced and well trained research nurses into sites to manage the trials; this enables each site to focus on patient identification and selection, as well as facilitating performance of all procedures in a timely manner. Placements can be made at single sites, or nursing teams can be pulled together to support sites across whole countries and trials.
