Roz Bekker appointed Managing Director of Janssen UK & Ireland

High Wycombe, UK, 30 March 2023 – The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson are pleased to introduce Roz Bekker as the new Managing Director of Janssen UK & Ireland, effective 1 March 2023. In this role, Roz will lead the UK & Ireland’s commercial business strategy with the aim of delivering remarkable solutions that provide value to patients, healthcare professionals and healthcare systems.
Roz joins from Janssen’s EMEA Strategy Organisation, where she held the role of Regional Commercial Strategy Leader for Infectious Diseases Vaccines (IDV). In this role, Roz led the IDV Commercial Organisation, playing an integral part in navigating the complexity of Janssen’s Covid Vaccine pandemic response.
Commenting on her new appointment, Bekker said: “I am delighted to be leading the UK & Ireland team at such an important time for the life sciences sector. I believe that there is considerable opportunity to strengthen existing partnerships between Government, the health service and industry to improve care and ensure timely access to innovative treatments for patients. Roz joined Janssen in 2005 and has transitioned through roles of increasing scope and leadership responsibility, across medical and commercial functions, relocating from South Africa to the United Kingdom in 2011. Prior to joining Janssen, Roz worked as a clinician in South Africa. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Witwatersrand University.
