Novo Nordisk Egypt has promoted Hassan Fahmi to become its new General Manager for operations within the company. Fahmi arrived at the company as a Business Development Manager and rose through the ranks, despite not having any previous knowledge of working within the pharmaceutical industry.

Fahmi arrived at the company with a background mostly in marketing and managing brands for large companies, including Procter & Gamble and Juhayna Food Industries. Prior to this he also had experience within television advertising, film and documentary business, as a producer and marketing manager.

He eventually joined Novo Nordisk as Business Development Manager, before becoming Marketing & MAPA Director for Novo Nordisk Egypt and his eventual appointment to the General Manager position.

On his appointment to the position, Fahmi said “I am proud to be leading a company that creates life changing medications such as Tresiba and Victoza. Tresiba is a once-daily basal insulin injection allowing flexibility in day-to-day dosing time, providing ultra-long diabetes treatment beyond 42 hours, therefore, it is recommended for people with diabetes who are fasting during the month of Ramadan, and those who may miss their insulin dose due to the change of daily lifestyle during fasting.”
