From 2012 to 2015 he was chairman of the board of directors of Nexstim – a medical tech company that focusses on rehabilitation for stroke patients. He was also global head of marketing and strategy for Phillips Medical and a vice president for GE Medical in Europe.
On his appointment Irish says: “This is a fascinating time to join NICE. It plays a hugely important role in helping the NHS and social care organisations to deliver the best care available. I hope my experience working in the healthcare industry will bring a valuable perspective.โ
NICE chief executive David Haslam adds: โI am delighted to welcome Tim Irish to the NICE board. His extensive experience at healthcare companies will be highly valuable. Iโm sure he will play a key part in helping NICE to lead the way in encouraging high-quality care for all across the health and social care sectors.โ
