Healthcare services firm IMS Health has appointed HGS Europe founders Graeme McFarlane and Angela McFarlane (pictured) to its UK team.

HGS is a provider of consultancy and market access programmes within the UK and since it was founded in 1998 by the McFarlanes, HGS Europe has enabled clients to engage with NHS commissioners and secure patient access to medicines.

Its co-founders will now join the IMS Health organisation in supporting UK and Ireland. The McFarlanes have more than 40 years’ experience between them in sales, marketing, consulting and senior management roles in the pharma industry, including GSK, AstraZeneca, BMS and MSD – and also in the pharma outsourcing, healthcare data and technology, and hospital sectors.

“The UK healthcare environment is changing rapidly and we believe we can best serve our clients by being at the forefront of innovation, developing offerings and services that enable them to tap into new or niche segments of their markets,” said Mike Sanvoisin, general manager, IMS Health UK and Ireland.

“Having Graeme and Angela in the UK team with their unique skills will help us do just that.  We’re delighted they’ve agreed to join IMS Health.”
