AstraZeneca has appointed Rich Fante as regional vice president of the Americas, and Marion McCourt as chief operating officer of the company’s US business.

Already responsible for leading the company’s commercial operations in North America, Fante will now also lead Central America and South America in his new role, while retaining his responsibilities as president of the US business.

Tony Zook, executive vice president, global commercial operations, said: “Rich is a strong leader who will enable our company to successfully navigate the challenges facing our industry while delivering innovation and value to our customers, patients and shareholders.”

McCourt is currently the president and chief executive of AstraZeneca Canada and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the US, whilst also heading the US leadership team.

“Marion’s leadership, vision and extensive experience will help AstraZeneca and the patients we serve well at a critical time for our business in the United States,” Fante said.
