Astellas announces compliance officer for the Americas

Astellas recently named J. Patrick McCauley Jr, a longtime pharmaceutical industry veteran and Astellas employee, to the post of Regional Compliance officer of the Americas.

Based in the company’s new Northbrook headquarters his responsibilities include managing and overseeing the compliance function in the US, Canada and Latin America. McCauley also will serve on the company’s Global Compliance Committee.

“Pat’s impressive leadership and broad pharmaceutical industry experience will allow the company to further grow its compliance function in the Americas, reflecting Astellas’ commitment to compliance and upholding the highest ethical standards,” said Astellas president and chief executive Masao Yoshida.

McCauley holds an executive master’s degree in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a law degree from South Texas College of Law. McCauley received a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in economics from the University of Notre Dame.
