ABPI hires new head of Commercial

The ABPI has appointed David Watson as its new head of Commercial, who will be reporting to the association’s Commercial executive director Alison Clough. 

Watson’s work will focus on implementing the 2014 Pharmaceutical Price Regulation Scheme (PPRS) on behalf of industry, and will work closely with the Department of Health.  

Previously Watson worked with marketing firm Cello Consulting, and prior to that with Pfizer, where he held a number of roles in marketing, sales and commercial operations.

Watson says: “I am delighted to join the ABPI at what is an important time for the industry following the recent PPRS agreement. I look forward to working with colleagues both within the ABPI and externally to ensure the full implementation of the new PPRS agreement and ensure that patients have access to the latest innovative medicines”

Clough adds: “I am looking forward to working with David on the implementation of the new PPRS agreement. David is a very welcome addition to the team”.
