
Three appointments in AstraZeneca’s global media relations team

Neil Burrows has joined as head of global media relations, following Esra Erkal-Paler’s promotion to head of global external communications.
Burrows joins from his previous role as head of global media and crisis communications at oil and gas firm BG Group. Erkal-Paler gets a promotion after joining the firm in 2011 from the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority.
In addition, Ali Perkins has joined AstraZeneca as head of communications for global medicines development and innovative medicine and early development. Perkins had previously spent seven years at Microsoft as head of UK PR and more recently was the tech firm’s director of privacy and social business strategy.
Both Erkal-Paler and Perkins report to interim vice-president of corporate affairs Rich Buckley, who is acting up from his role as vice-president, North America corporate affairs.
