Bristol-Myers Squibb hires new general manager

Johanna Mercier has been appointed as Bristol-Myers Squibb’s general manager for the UK and Ireland. 

The appointment of Mercier who was previously the firm’s European commercial and access lead, replaces the outgoing Amadou Diarra – who moves on to a new role within the BMS global policy and government affairs team.



 

Mercier has over 20 years’ experience in the pharma industry and has led brand, disease and medicine access strategies across a diverse range of therapeutic areas – working on a national, global and European level.

Mercier says: “The UK and Ireland is a hugely influential market, where decisions are made that impact healthcare and research around the world. I look forward to my new role as general manager for this market and the opportunity to lead Bristol-Myers Squibb towards becoming a Speciality Biopharma company.”
