Specialist publisher acquires Pharmafile portfolio

Samedan Ltd has extended its range of market-leading pharmaceutical magazines with the acquisition of the Pharmafile portfolio.
The London-based firm which has been producing a wide range of magazines for the global pharma industry since 1996, bought the Pharmafile brand from academic publishers John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
Samedan hopes to further strengthen its position as a leading publisher of international pharma titles, to which it will now add:
- the monthly Pharmafocus print newspaper – established in 1998 the paper updates readers with the very latest news, features and comments from the UK and European pharma markets
- www.pharmafile.com – an online platform of business news, features, analysis, appointments and jobs supported by weekly e-alerts
- the Pharmafile directory – published bi-annually, this indispensible tool contains information on service providers for the industry.
Samedan’s managing director, Gulia Selby, said: “Samedan is a dynamic, young company which has enjoyed year-on-year growth with its five established titles for pharmaceutical professionals. Pharmafocus recently gained over 10,000 followers on Twitter (@pharmafocus) and is part of the portfolio which also offers online webinars and event hosting.
