We have a fantastic opportunity to join the GPI team as the Head of Product Innovation where you will have overall responsibility of the GPI pulse platform and services. As Head of Product Innovation, you will be responsible for the commercial performance of our platform which you will achieve by defining the strategy, design and roadmap for the product, by ensuring it can compete successfully in a highly competitive market across vertical and horizontal market segments.

This is an instrumental and senior role with broad scope, however you must be equally willing to continue to play a hands-on role in managing your department. You will need to work collaboratively with marketing, sales, client support and operations to develop and market our product. You will be a key spokesperson for your products internally and externally and will need to be comfortable engaging with customers, partners and internal teams. As Head of Product Innovation, you will play an important leadership role within GPI’s Senior Management Team. As such, you will have the opportunity and responsibility to help monitor and shape the performance of the business, taking on critical challenges and contributing to the overall strategy and success.

General Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Overall responsibility for the GPI pulse platform in terms of managing budgets, pre sales, development
  • Ensure all client deliveries are on time and of the required quality
  • Ensure a globally robust and highly scalable approach to development to support our growing number of global users and services.
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates GPI products in the market
  • Sales/Marketing enablement – communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products. Work closely with the sales and marketing team to drive product awareness and lead generation
  • Product launch – plan the launch of new modules and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
  • Market intelligence – be the expert on your buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and how to crush them. Deliver competitive sales guides to the sales team
  • Demand generation – develop the strategy and collaborate on the marketing programs that drive demand for our products and services
  • In conjunction with product management, define the market requirements and key customer facing roadmap features and translate those features into customer value propositions
  • Develop pricing and bundling strategies to maximize total customer value and overall revenue for product line
  • Responsibility for ensuring high client adoption/use/integration

Skills and Specifications

  • Passionate about delivering quality, innovative products
  • Is able to enthuse others aligning them to adopt and embrace the same characteristics
  • Experience with the latest product trends
  • Demonstrable experience in fast-paced development delivery – that balances frequency and high quality product
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to both a technical and non-technical and international audience
  • Knowledge/experience of life sciences (not essential)
  • Background in designing and managing systems is desirable
  • Marketing/product positioning
  • An understanding of big data, analytics and/or artificial intelligence and visualisations
  • Ability to produce high quality outputs using data and insights

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Engineering, product management or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in a product management capacity
  • Knowledge of analytics and visualisation programmes
  • Some technical aptitude and background, with the ability to understand, explain and coach internal and external customers
  • Proven track record of developing new innovative product verticals from original concepts to launch
  • Proven record collaborating with and influencing functional peers to deliver novel product solutions
  • Demonstrated success hiring and leading high performing delivery teams
  • Ability to manage a team, multiple product lines and operate as a team player
  • Strong execution skills
  • Solid presentation skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Availability to travel internationally as required
  • Experience in Life Sciences preferred
