This week, Verisense have announced that their Digital Biobank, with data from over one million people, is open for business.

The data and digital health technology company have launched their Digital Biobank which will include data from both third parties and Verisense Health Research, totaling 570 studies.

Verisense CEO Geoff Gill stated: “For too long, digital health data from thousands of studies from around the world have been virtually impossible to access. As a result, researchers have had to collect the same or similar data over and over at great cost in time and money.”

The Digital Biobank includes specific medical data which can be used to identify algorithms and digital biomarkers, allowing for comparisons between data to show emerging trends for specific diseases. The data collected come from measurements such as heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, accelerometry, electrocardiogram photoplethysmography, polysomnography, electromyography, electrooculography and galvanic skin response sensors.

“Our goal is for researchers never to have to collect the same data twice,” Geof Gill added

The Digital Biobank utilises an AI-powered Dataset Cataloger, which extracts and catalogues relevant metadata in an efficient manner from open-source digital health datasets. The AI Dataset Cataloger is an automated the process, enabling Verisense Health to update the Verisense Digital Biobank frequently.
