Scitech Engineering, a provider of engineering and manufacturing services across multiple industries including life sciences, has joined the Ekium Group, a French engineering, automation and site design company. As part of the integration, Scitech will be rebranded as Scitech-EKIUM.
“This is a pivotal moment for Scitech. Joining the Ekium Group allows us to scale our capabilities and extend our reach, while continuing to deliver the same high-quality, client-focused service. Together, we’re uniquely positioned to support the life sciences sector with greater depth, agility and innovation,” said Dave Grant, managing director, Scitech.
The two companies highlight Scitech’s expertise in delivering complex, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)-compliant projects for the pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences and advanced technology sectors, as complementing Ekium’s global reach and multidisciplinary capabilities.
Support for the life sciences sector currently represents 25% of Ekium’s total turnover, equating to $90m in revenue and a workforce of 550 of its 2,500 employees. Ekium’s teams serve clients including GSK, Novartis, Sanofi, Takeda and UCB, and operate across biologics, vaccines, medical devices, nuclear medicine and hospital pharmacy segments.
A unified network of facilities will be established across Europe. Ekium operates two life sciences-focused offices in Liège and Jumet in Belgium, while Scitech has offices in Antwerp and operations in the Netherlands.
“We are delighted to welcome Scitech into the Ekium family. Their technical excellence and strong presence in the UK and European life sciences sector align perfectly with our strategic vision. This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions across Europe,” said Jean-François Yot, general manager, Ekium Group.
