Rotzinger PharmaPack has launched a new filling and capping platform called VarioFill, designed to handle a wide range of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, personal care items and nutraceuticals.

Unlike conventional production lines – which often require separate machines for different products and packaging formats – the product offers a single, modular solution. It can process liquids such as cough syrups and eye drops, creams and serums, as well as solid forms like tablets and capsules. The platform is compatible with varied packaging materials, container shapes and closure types.

A key feature is its compact footprint: VarioFill reduces space requirements by more than 50% through the use of exchangeable modules and a high degree of automation.

“With VarioFill, modularity is a daily reality,” said Michael Gensheimer, product manager at Rotzinger PharmaPack.

The system incorporates gentle container handling, in-process control weighing both before and after filling and a cleaning-in-place function that automates cleaning of product-contact parts. This reduces the need for guiding components such as pucks, making the process more efficient and less prone to damage.

Gensheimer added: “Our customers can put together their individual solution to suit production requirements, and modify or expand it flexibly.”
