French-based communications group Publicis has acquired independent UK healthcare communications agency Resolute Communications.
London-based Resolute will be merged with Publicis Life Brands and will become Publicis Life Brands Resolute.
Alain Sarraf, president of Publicis’ healthcare communications division, said: “Resolute Communications’ proven capabilities in strategic programming and PR are a perfect marriage with Publicis Life Brands with its strong advertising, branding, and digital experience.
“We now approach the marketplace with a full-service seamless communications offering all under one roof.”
The combined operation will have 100 employees and is set to strengthen Publicis Healthcare Communication Group’s (PHGC) position in the UK.
Resolute’s founders Paul Blackburn and Anna Korving have been named joint managing directors of Publicis Life Brands Resolute and will report to Sarraf.
Korving said: “By working together with Publicis Life Brands, we now have the ability to deliver fully integrated health communications across the marketing mix. We can seamlessly integrate strategic communications with branding and digital solutions all with the ultimate goal of making a real difference to our clients.”
Blackburn added that he and Korving had founded Resolute with the intention of becoming the most influential health communications agency, and this vision will continue to be followed by Publicis Life Brands Resolute.
He added: “We are excited to be joining PHCG because it gives us unprecedented access to their global network.”
Since it was set up in 2002 Resolute has won several awards the Holmes Report European healthcare agency of the year and PR Week’s consultancy of the year.
PHCG is a division of Publicis Groupe and manages agencies specialising in promoting innovative solutions in advertising, medical education, sales and marketing, digital, market access, and medical and scientific affairs. The firm currently has 3,000 employees and manages 16 agency brands in 10 countries.
