Ergomed plc, the parent company of PrimeVigilance, has acquired Sound Opinion, one of the UK’s leading Medical Information (MI) service providers.

Sound Opinion will be combined with PrimeVigilance existing MI business to form a comprehensive Medical Information service provider with seamless links as required to PrimeVigilance’s leading pharmacovigilance services and team of in-house medics.

Sound Opinion is a very well-established business which has been trading for over 18 years. It was the first UK Company to offer MI services as an outsourced model to pharmaceutical companies selling medicines in the UK.

The enlarged MI business has a well-established UK team and an extensive international footprint including native speakers in a number of European, Asian, Arabic and other languages. The medium term strategy is to continue expanding in the core UK and Ireland MI market, while strengthening the presence in mainland Europe. The current operational staff and management of Sound Opinion will remain with the business after completion.

Commenting on the deal, Neil Clark, Director of PrimeVigilance, said: “Medical Information is a very good fit with our leading presence in pharmacovigilance and drug safety and we are extremely pleased to join forces with Sound Opinion with its strong brand, focus on quality and existing client business. I would like to welcome the Sound Opinion staff and clients and look forward to working with them.”
