A new company has been launched to bring people and change management expertise to companies that are not able to retain these skills in-house.

Headed up by former Amersham/GE global vice president Heather Whitaker, People Strategies aims to offer a level of HR expertise usually only seen in large global organisations in a cost-effective manner.

"Having worked in the sector for over twenty years, with companies such as SmithKline Beecham, Parke-Davis/Pfizer and latterly as a global vice president for Amersham/General Electric, I feel there is enormous scope to offer organisations my specialist expertise," said Heather Whitaker.

The company will offer strategies in planning and implementing effective people management through change and cover issues such as organisational design, culture shift and possibly post-acquisition or merger demands.

"Basically we take care of the human element of the business decision, allowing the company to continue to operate as a profitable business," Whitaker added.

People Strategies aims to add value to organisations by improving employee engagement and retention and minimising resistance to change and consequently disruption to productivity.

"This is a great opportunity for me personally to utilise all my experience and skills and really help those organisations who are serious about the value of their people," Whitaker said.
