Japan-based biopharma, NIPRO, has launched LiniXia, a new reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment system for haemodialysis. It was unveiled at the European Renal Association (ERA) Congress 2025 in Vienna, Austria. The system has been developed with input from dialysis technicians and healthcare staff and is designed to support consistent permeate production, resource efficiency and ease of use in clinical settings.
LiniXia’s features include digital integration, automated recovery from power interruptions and an adjustable volume tank that only fills and heats as required. The system is designed to optimise energy and water use and provide permeate yields of up to 90%. Models also support both chemical and full heat disinfection, depending on configuration.
The design incorporates a semi-open layout with a closed front interface for clinical users and open rear access for technicians. Functions such as smart warning management and automatic switching between single and double stages aim to minimise downtime and support continuous operation.
LiniXia PRO, a variant of the system, includes full heat disinfection and marks NIPRO’s first entry into this segment of water treatment. The system is manufactured at the company’s NPW site in Bruchsal, Germany, which has over 20 years of experience in dialysis water systems. The platform is certified under EU medical device regulation (MDR) 2017/745.
NIPRO’s expanded water treatment portfolio is intended to support a wider range of dialysis requirements across care settings.
