Napp Pharmaceutical Holdings has risen to position 5 in the latest Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For, and remains the highest ranked pharmaceutical company in the UK.
The success came just weeks after the company became one of only 50 companies in the UK to be awarded three stars by Best Companies through its accreditation scheme. The Sunday Times Top 100 and the Best Companies accreditation scheme are both derived from the results of the Best Companies survey, and both reward excellence in employee engagement.
This is the fourth year that Napp has entered the awards, and has been ranked highly each time, having come 9th, 12th and 11th, respectively, over the previous three years. This is despite the competition for rankings continuing to grow, with 347 organisations applying for inclusion in the mid-size companies list this year.
Napp says it uses the Best Companies survey results each year to continue to evolve its culture. The company says it puts people at the heart of the organisation, aiming to support each individual to perform at their best and take personal responsibility for the success of the business.
Napp scored highly in all areas assessed by the survey, particularly in the areas of ‘my company’, ‘my team’, ‘fair deal’ and ‘leadership’. Headline results include:
• 89% of employees said that they were excited about where the organisation was going
• 89% said that they felt the organisation was run on strong values and principles
• 90% felt that they could make a valuable contribution to the success of the organisation
• 89% felt that Napp makes a positive difference to the world we live in
• 85% said that they felt their job was good for their own personal growth.
“An engaged and motivated workforce that is willing to give their very best for their company is a good thing for any organisation, but is particularly advantageous for a pharmaceutical company because the marketplace is becoming increasingly complex and competitive,” says managing director Antony Mattessich.
“We believe that our strong commitment to fully engaging employees is key to our ongoing prosperity in such an environment. Napp is an exciting place to be, full of energised, successful people who take personal responsibility for our success. Our open culture truly gives them the freedom to generate ideas and challenge existing strategies and tactics to give the best possible outcome for us, the NHS and patients.”
