Medicines Partnership would involve industry

The Medicines Partnership, a Department of Health scheme that promotes patient compliance, would lend its support to pharmaceutical industry projects.

The Partnership would not fund the projects but would be willing to support companies with advice on training, promotion and how to audit and evaluate the results.

Director Joanne Shaw said that although pharma companies would have to be clear about who was funding the projects, the Partnership could work with the industry.

Applications for new projects can be made on-line at www.medicines-partnership.org where they will be assessed by an executive group of healthcare professionals, patients and industry representatives.

The programme has two main aims: achieving greater health benefit for patients and improving patient satisfaction with delivery of healthcare.
