Indian drugmaker Lupin is, via its Japanese unit Kyowa, setting up a manufacturing unit in Japan as part of its plans to expand its presence in the country. The company said the proposed plant will be based in Tottori.
“In order to meet the rapidly growing demand of generics, the Kyowa Board has proposed the setting-up of a two billion tablets capacity plant at Tottori, Japan which would be designed to efficiently handle mass volume products and provide flexibility in allowing easy future expansion,” Lupin said in a regulatory filing.
