Draftfcb Healthcare which has been rebranded as FCB Health has confirmed it is buying Halesway, the UK-headquartered healthcare agency.
This is the first international acquisition for FCB Health which is a unit of FCB, itself a member of the Interpublic Group – and represents a step towards building its presence in Europe.
“The acquisition of Halesway is part of our long-term plan to build our resources around the world,” said Dana Maiman, president and chief executive of FCB Health. “Our joining together further enhances our ability to deliver targeted, high-impact, results-oriented campaigns for our growing list of global clients.”
Halesway specialises in digital and traditional media campaigns and provides healthcare product services for the life sciences industry. Its client roster includes firms such as Abbott, Baxter, Boehringer Ingelheim, Hospira, MSD and Novartis.
Liz Rawlingson, founder and managing director of Halesway, said: “Being part of FCB Health will allow us to take Halesway to new heights and, in turn, we will be able to provide them with a strong and innovative hub for their new expansion into Europe.”
Rawlingson began Halesway in 1993 and named the firm after her family home, which her parents had labelled as a combination of their birthplaces (Halesworth in Suffolk and Holloway in Derbyshire). The agency is located in Andover, an hour outside of London.
Halesway will continue to be led by Rawlingson, along with Niki Crossley who has been promoted to managing director – commercial; and Neil Padgett, who has been promoted to to the same role – creative.
