The GLOBALHealthPR network of owner-managed comunications agencies has expanded, incorporating firms in Turkey and India.
The introduction of OptimumBrand in Istanbul and Mumbai-based Mediamedic Communications brings the total of member firms in the network to 12.
“The addition of both Optimum Brand and Mediamedic, well-established and reputable agencies, enhances our network’s reach and influence in important health care markets,” said Neil Crump, managing director of the network’s UK agency Aurora.
OptimumBrand was founded in 1996 by general manager Seyhan Ayel Girit, while Mediamedic has pharma, nutraceutical, and health food sector clients and was set up a decade ago by managing directors Priti Mohile and Dinesh Chindarkar.
GLOBALHealthPR, with members in Europe, the Americas and Asia, bills itself as “the largest independent public relations organisation dedicated exclusively to health and medical communications worldwide”.
The network was founded in 2001 and, as well as Aurora and the new additions, has agencies in Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain and the US.
It is headquartered in Washington at the offices of US health agency Spectrum, whose president John Seng is chair of the network.
Mohile and Chindarkar’s understanding of the local health industry, marketing communications and government regulations is likely to be prized by clients keen to work in India’s fast-developing market.
The country has become a magnet for established pharma manufacturers seeking a well-educated workforce, new production facilities and clinical trial recruits.
Aurora, brought into the network in early 2008, was set up by Crump and co-founder Claire Eldridge, who met when both were associate directors at Fleishman-Hillard Healthcare.
Crump was also board director of Athena Medical PR for three years and Eldridge worked in Sydney as healthcare account director for Burson-Marsteller Australia.
Camden-based Aurora’s management team includes associate director Sarah Hoffman, who leads the agency’s Lilly and Roche accounts and its partnership in GLOBALHealthPR.
