Digital medicine company electronRx, based in Cambridge, UK, has announced the upcoming launch of pDx, a mobile app designed to support remote management of chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs).

Built to medical grade standards, the pDx platform allows patients with conditions such as asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension to measure lung function at home using a mobile phone, laptop or tablet. Results are transmitted to a secure clinical dashboard, enabling clinicians to monitor disease progression in real time and adjust treatment plans to improve outcomes.

By reducing the need for hospital visits, pDx aims to ease pressure on healthcare systems while giving patients greater flexibility in managing their condition. The app builds on electronRx’s proprietary purpleDx technology, incorporating tailored questionnaires and expanding compatibility across devices.

Using built-in camera sensors, the system captures blood flow biomechanics and translates these into digital biomarkers such as heart rate, respiratory rate and tidal volume. These clinically actionable metrics provide a continuous stream of data to inform more personalised care.

Bipin Patel, CEO and founder of electronRx, said: “By facilitating continuous monitoring, pDx helps clinicians tailor treatment while improving patient adherence and reducing healthcare burden. Most importantly, it gives patients greater flexibility and control over their healthcare journey.”
