UK clinical trials technology company ClinPhone is to develop its European business to serve clusters of pharmaceutical and biotech companies on the continent.
Recently appointed Stephan Schaaf will head up the company's new office in Heidelberg, Germany, which will focus on companies operating in Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Germany. Together, these countries represent one of the biggest markets for ClinPhone's web and telephone-based IT technology.
"Europe, and particularly Germany, used to be the third biggest market in the world", says Mr Schaff. "Even if that has changed in recent times it is still extremely important for ClinPhone to be present in such an important geographical market".
The company designs, develops and manages telephone and Internet-based IT applications aimed at dramatically reducing clinical trial costs and improving efficiency.
Since being established in 1993, the company has been involved in over 720 clinical trials in over 80 countries and 70 languages.
