Chemify has announced its strategic relocation to the newly opened Health Innovation Hub (HiH) in Glasgow, marking one of the largest life sciences commercial lettings in the city so far this year.
The HiH is Glasgow’s first purpose-built life sciences facility, offering 87,000 sq ft of flexible laboratory and office space. Situated within the Glasgow Riverside Innovation District, near the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, the Hub has been developed through a collaboration between Kadans Science Partner, a specialist in science-focused real estate, and the Living Laboratory for Precision Medicine, a University of Glasgow-led initiative aimed at accelerating the development and commercialisation of healthcare solutions.
“We constantly hear about the need and opportunity for life science space to improve Scotland’s health and economic outcomes. With a proven track record in Europe and the rest of the UK, Kadans is making this happen through the HiH, supporting the life science sector and helping businesses thrive within dynamic ecosystems,” said Mark Hanna, director of asset management of Kadans Science Partner.
Chemify, which currently employs 165 people, will relocate from its existing headquarters at the University of Glasgow’s Advanced Research Centre to the HiH later this year. The digital chemistry company will occupy more than 40,000 sq ft of laboratory and office space across two floors.
“Our expansion into the HiH marks an exciting new chapter for Chemify,” commented Professor Lee Cronin, CEO and Founder of Chemify. “This cutting-edge accommodation will allow us not only to scale up our operations, but also to keep attracting the best talent while consolidating our key role in the digitisation of chemistry.”
