Every year, Veeva asks clinical professionals to take part in the Veeva Unified Clinical Operations Survey to help the industry better understand the current challenges.

Last year’s survey findings had shown that sponsors and CROs are making progress in unifying clinical systems, streamlining end-to-end processes, and aligning stakeholders to improve trial performance.

Some of the key findings from last year’s survey:

  • 97% of respondents have at least one major challenge with their clinical applications; top two most frequently cited issues are integrating applications and reporting
  • 60% of respondents say that easier collaboration is among the top drivers for unifying clinical systems and processes
  • 80% of respondents use email to exchange trial information with study partners, followed by portals, and file share applications
