
United Drug hires Abbott VP

Healthcare services firm United Drug has appointed Brendan McAtamney as chief operating officer with effect from September.
McAtamney will be based at United Drug’s headquarters in Dublin. He joins from Abbott Laboratories where he has worked for the last 17 years in a variety of global and European leadership positions. Most recently he was vice president Commercial for the Established Pharmaceutical Division of Abbott, based in Basel Switzerland.
In his role, McAtamney will focus on enhancing business performance across the three divisions within United Drug; Sales, Marketing and Medical, Healthcare Supply Chain and Packaging and Speciality. McAtamney will also work with the executive leadership team.

His expertise in key global markets and depth of experience across the broader pharmaceutical value chain will be extremely valuable as we continue to expand and internationalise our professional healthcare outsourced solutions.” said United Drug’s chief executive Liam FitzGerald.
