Takeda UK is bolstering its Medical and Human Resources functions as Takeda continues to develop its expertise in the Specialty Care sector.

Adam Zaeske, managing director, who took up the post in June this year, highlights the importance of these two roles at this significant phase of Takeda’s evolution. “We are working within a constantly changing healthcare environment and the Medical function under the medical director’s leadership will be crucial to ensure we align and work in partnership with the NHS as we bring important new medicines to market,” he says.

“Additionally, we also recognise that the focus and dedication of our employees plays a vital role in ensuring patients gain access to those new medicines and so we are delighted to reinforce our commitment to the ongoing development of our employees through the appointment of a UK HR Director.”

New medical director Simon Meadowcroft has held senior positions at Novartis and GSK, specialising in oncology, working with all stakeholders to develop and drive the strategy for key assets within their oncology portfolio. He began his career as a qualified accountant before re-training in medicine and subsequently practicing as a general practitioner, giving him strong business and commercial insight that will be beneficial in supporting Takeda’s evolution.

Pauline Bromley, newly-appointed human resources director has more than 15 years’ experience working with small and large pharmaceutical organisations and joins from LEO Pharma, where she established effective professional and commercial HR practices to support the development of a performance-driven culture. The company believes Bromley’s track record in leading change will have a pivotal role in aligning and building the internal competencies and resources required to ensure Takeda has the talent and resources for future success

Commenting on the new appointments, Zaeske says: “Takeda is committed to advancing healthcare by developing specialist medicines that meet the needs of patients, healthcare professionals and society. Our focus on that goal means we need to ensure that our employees have the right skills and experience and are truly inspired to make a real difference. The recruitment of these two new senior roles will ensure that we are perfectly positioned to deliver on our aspirations.”
