US global specialty pharmaceutical company Hospira has appointed Svend Andersen to lead its operations in Europe with effect from 1 November.
As corporate vice president and president for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) he will be based in Hospira’s EMEA head offices in Leamington Spa in the UK.
Most recently Svend served as executive vice president for Western Europe at generic specialty pharmaceutical company Actavis, prior to which he was vice president and general manager at Alpharma, a global specialty pharmaceutical company.
Svend will report to Hospira’s chief commercial officer Ron Squarer, who said: “In his more than 20 years in the healthcare industry, he has compiled a strong track record of introducing new products, developing markets and building teams, all of which will be essential as Hospira takes on new opportunities and grows its current business in the EMEA.”
