Riemser Pharma recruits former GSK head

Riemser Pharma in Germany has appointed Dr Thomas Werner to its advisory board.

The former head of GlaxoSmithKline and Bristol-Myers Squibb Germany will primarily support the firm in its expansion strategy, according to Riemser.

Werner worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb from 1983 to 1997, ending his role there as a managing director. From 1997 to 2009, he served as chief executive of GSK Germany and Central Europe.

Following GSK departure he has worked as an independent consultant and a member of several supervisory and advisory boards across a variety of companies. 

“We are very proud to have Dr Thomas Werner on board. His vision and expertise in the pharmaceutical industry will help us to identify new products for our portfolio as part of our growth strategy and open new key markets,” explains associate professor Dr Kai Deusch, chief executive of Riemser.
