
PPD hires Bhooshi De Silva as senior VP

Contract research organisation Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD) has added Bhooshi De Silva as senior VP of corporate development and strategy to its executive leadership team.
De Silva is to focus on key initiatives for the firm comprising corporate development, strategy, and mergers and acquisitions.
With 15 years of experience in the biopharma industry De Silva started his career at Pfizer, holding roles across the R&D and commercial organisations in portfolio management, strategy and operations.
In 2009, De Silva was named VP of business development evaluation and strategy, leading a team in the evaluation of licensing, acquisitions and corporate strategic initiatives for Pfizer.
Most recently, he served as head of business development, corporate strategy and international teams at Optimer Pharmaceuticals.
“Bhooshi’s vision and expertise will be invaluable in our efforts to grow our business and successfully meet the evolving needs of our clients,” said David Simmons, PPD’s chairman and chief executive.
